Middle School A Girls Win Season Opener over University Christian

Ella Hoang led the Conquerors with eight points, and five of the seven players on the roster contributed 15 more as the Girls Middle School A won its season opener with a very impressive 23-11 victory Monday afternoon over the rivaled Fighting Christians of University Christian School.

Hoang scored six of her eight points in the first half, which outscored the entire University team at the intermission. She scored the basket that ended the Conquerors’ only deficit of the game (2-0) with a jump shot from the top of the lane to tie the score at 2-2 with 1:16 left in the first quarter. She added a field goal before the buzzer and then one in each of the next two periods.

Emma Haney, Julia Jianuzzi, and Lauren Sweat each followed Hoang with four points. Sweat’s layup with 52 seconds left in the first put Trinity ahead to stay. Trinity led 6-2 after one, 15-4 at the half, and 19-9 at the end of the third quarter.

Haney hit two fourth-quarter shots to give the Conquerors a very comfortable lead, and Olivia Williams finished the night with three points via a field goal and a free throw.

University’s Amaya Redrick was the game’s leading scorer as she tallied all 11 of the Fighting Christian’s points. Redrick scored four in the first half and seven in the second. She hit five free throws, all in the second half.

The A Girls (1-0) will play again on Tuesday as they, Middle School B, and the JV girls all travel to Hilliard. The B game starts at 4:30 p.m. with the A game and the JV to follow. Tuesday’s B game is the season opener for Team B, and JV (1-0) defeated Hilliard in its season opener on November 12 at Trinity.

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for ‘lorem ipsum’ will uncover many web sites still in their infancy. Various versions have evolved over the years, sometimes by accident, sometimes on purpose (injected humour and the like).
